Academic Profiles

The admission review process provides us with an opportunity to assess your entire academic record, including all attempted and completed courses, and grades earned. We also look beyond the classroom. Extracurricular accomplishments, special talents and awards, and life experiences are weighed to determine a student’s potential for success at CUNY college.

The Freshman Profile consists of the average high school GPA for admitted freshmen at each college.

Students can see how their courses will transfer between colleges using CUNY Transfer Explorer (T-Rex), the source for the most up-to-date information about how CUNY colleges transfer and apply credit for both CUNY and non-CUNY courses, as well as for other learning experiences, like exams and certifications.

Transfer Explorer (T-Rex) is a web-based tool containing the most up-to-date information about how CUNY colleges transfer and apply credit for both CUNY and non-CUNY courses, as well as for other learning experiences, like exams and certifications. Whether you are planning to transfer within CUNY or simply to take a course at another CUNY college, make T-Rex your go-to resource. Visit the T-Rex Help Center to learn how to make the most of T-Rex — and remember, it’s never too early to begin planning your transfer journey.

CUNY College Admission Profile: Fall 2024

The tables below reflect the average academic profiles of both admitted freshmen and admitted transfer students at each CUNY undergraduate college for the Fall of 2024. This information is helpful as applicants decide which colleges within CUNY are an appropriate academic fit for them. Keep in mind, however, that these profiles are an average, not a minimum standard for admission. Applicants may be admissible to a particular college if their academic profile (GPA or credits) falls within range (both above and below) of the stated average.
