The Old Testament

This year (2022) we (Bryce Dunford and Mike Day) are excited to produce podcasts that get into ways the Old Testament can be applied and understood in our lives. We will read the Old Testament with an ancient as well as modern outlook. We will also work to teach and explain this sacred book looking through the frame of the Book of Mormon, for we believe that the Book of Mormon is a clear lens by which to see the text. If you have any suggestions on material that you would like to see, feel free to comment on this page or send me an email. Thanks!

I wish we as a collective Church membership understood the Old Testament better, especially Isaiah as Jesus urged. There is so much in those books that sets the stage and gives context to where the world is now in the timeline from Creation and Fall to the 2nd Coming and Millenium. When I was on my mission in the late 1990s, we were “required” to read the entire standard works, except for the Old Testament. I went ahead and read it anyhow, and it helped a ton with teaching and explaining things to people about everything from patriarchal blessings to why the Sabbath is so important.
